ISABE Technical Tours


Wednesday Afternoon, 25 September

The Local Organising Committee is pleased to offer our ISABE2019 delegates a varied range of technical tours on the Wednesday afternoon of the conference. These tours, led by local experts, will highlight some of the unique contributions Canberra and Australia continue to make to the international aerospace community.

The five tours on offer are:

  1. UNSW Canberra (Tour of the University’s research facilities in Hypersonics / Space / Impact Dynamics / Air Traffic Management) (see www.unsw.adfa.edu.au)

  2. Australian Transportation Safety Board (Briefing and tour of the ATSB’s forensic laboratories) ( see www.atsb.gov.au )

  3. Airservices Australia (Briefing and tour of the national Network Coordination Centre) ( see www.airservicesaustralia.com/noc/ )

  4. Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve and NASA Deep Space Communications Complex (kangaroos, koalas, maybe a platypus and an hour at the DSCC Visitors Centre) (see www.tidbinbilla.act.gov.au and www.cdscc.nasa.gov ). This excursion will take all afternoon.

  5. Australian War Memorial (self-guided tour of the AWM’s aircraft collection) ( see www.awm.gov.au )
