Biography
Dr. Ulizar obtained his MSc in Aeronautical Engineering from the School of Aeronautics of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid with the Double Degree MSc in Thermal Power from Cranfield Institute of Technology in 1992. He was awarded the Roy Fedden Prize. He obtained a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Cranfield in 1998. He started his career at Cranfield as a Research Assistant in 1993 and joined ITP in 1994 as a performance engineer. There he progressed quickly to eventually become in 2007 Technical Director/Chief Technology Officer, leading all the Engineering and Technology activities within the ITP Group. Dr. Ulizar is the author of numerous papers in the areas of variable cycle aircraft engines, advanced industrial cycles and turbine aerodynamics. Dr Iñaki Ulizar has been involved in several international turbomachinery associations, including ASME (where he chaired the Cycle Innovations Committee), the European Turbomachinery Committee and ISABE, where he was the Spanish National Representative until 2014.
